The Midwife’s Nursery

Before I worked in cement, I worked in care. I’m a retired nurse-midwife, and for years I grew and shared plants alongside my garden photography and art. I’m downsizing live plants now — the daylilies will always be here, but the nursery side has quieted. A few plants still appear seasonally at my booth at Country Flair Antiques in Montrose.

The care resources below remain for anyone who has found one of my plants or planters and needs guidance.

Succulent Planters My hand-painted cement automobile planters are built to last indoors or in a protected outdoor space. Place in bright indirect light and water sparingly — just enough to keep your succulent happy. You can find current planter listings at Art from the Hartt.

Hypertufa Pots Lightweight and durable, made from Portland cement, sphagnum moss, and vermiculite. Their porous structure provides excellent drainage and weathers beautifully through the seasons. Fill with soil, plant your favorite greenery, water as needed.
